Abigail Jones and Marissa Miley are the coauthors of the New York Times and Boston Globe bestseller Restless Virgins: Love, Sex, and Survival at a New England Prep School (William Morrow, 2007). Their book, which takes place at their alma mater, Milton Academy, received critical recognition in the New York Times Book Review, O the Oprah Magazine, the Boston Globe, Boston Magazine, and on Time.com. Jones and Miley have appeared on the Today show, Star Jones, Fox News, New England Cable News, CN8, NPR, and radio shows across the country. Together they have written for USA Today and the Huffington Post.
Abigail Jones writes about gender, sexuality, culture, and the arts. Her first book is the bestseller Restless Virgins. She has also written about Barbie, elite prep schools, and the love industry for the Special Reports section of Forbes.com. She’s covered quirky, unexpected projects coming out of MIT’s Media Lab for the Boston Phoenix, motherhood and plastic surgery for the Boston Globe, stress-reduction programs at Boston-area high schools for Boston Magazine, and the relationship between teens and television for Gaudian.co.uk, among other publications. She graduated from Dartmouth College, cum laude, in 2003, has a Masters in creative writing from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and worked as a staff editor and intern at the Atlantic. Born and raised near Boston, Abigail now lives in New York City, where she is pursuing her M.A. in arts and culture journalism at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Marissa Miley lives in Manhattan. Her work has appeared on Esquire.com, the Huffington Post, and Misstropolis.com, and in USA Today and The New York Post. Prior to writing Restless Virgins, she was the content writer for Harvard University’s Initiative for Global Health, and an intern at the Atlantic. She graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2003, with degrees in English (with Distinction) and Economics. She is currently at work on a second book of non-fiction.
